Meet Regeana

What is your name (and social handle)?

Regeana (@regeana19)

Tell us about you! Where are you from? What do you do for a living?

I am from Cleveland originally, currently living in Tallmadge. I work in HR at Summa Health.

How did you get into running?

After finishing grad school and 2 years of nothing but studying and quick breaks between semesters I decided a needed a hobby. I did Couch to 5k and I remember thinking “let me just get through this 5k and I won’t ever have to run again” We’ll, that was over 10 years ago. Only in the last few years have I started really taking it seriously and started coaching in 2021.

Tell us about your biggest running successes, and/or running goals.

I had been chasing a half marathon PR since 2013 and before children. Finally getting that PR in November was for sure my biggest success! I’m the future I am thinking of tackling a 25k….maybe.

If you could go on a run with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

Parker Stinson. I randomly started following him on Instagram and he has been inspiring with his struggles with the ups and downs of running, overcoming injury, etc. It’d be cool to run with and pick his brain on motivation.

What is your favorite way to spend a day off?

Hanging out with my family! Playing outside or just relaxing watching TV.

Where is your favorite spot to vacation, or somewhere you would love to travel to?

Colorado is my favorite all time place to visit. Lake Michigan has become a family vacation favorite.

Name a book that everyone (running related or not) should read.

The Storyteller by Dave Grohl. Not running related but a solid read with great stories.

Favorite food:

French Fries

A genie grants you three wishes. What would they be?

1. Strong hips, glutes, and hammies! 2. Any race I enter is all flat with cool temps 3. The happiness and success of my children

What is your best advice for fellow runners?

Don’t compare yourself to others! Running is about the goal you set for yourself and the work you do to achieve that goal. That’s where you find your proud moments, not with how you did compared to someone else.
